Counseling

Parents and social agencies are partners with middle school counselors in bridging the gap from childhood to adolescence.Counseling and guidance services are carried out in both individual and group conferences.

•Academics, After Care, Behavioral Health Issues, Career Exploration, Conflict Resolution, Decision Making, Drug and Alcohol Issues, High School Planning, Self-Esteem, Social Skills, Study Skills, Transition to Middle School, and Coordinating

Counselors serve as liaison among the home, the school, and the community.  Counselors make referrals to mental health professionals, arrange re-entry conferences, and support after-care.

  • Function in a collaborative role providing information and resources to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Serve as advisors and facilitators for students, their parents, and their teachers in areas of concern.
  • Provide support for appropriate course selection.
  • Are integral members of the Student Assistance Team which deals with mental health issues and chemical abuse concern.
  • Work with learning support teachers to meet the special needs of our learning support students.
  • Serve as support members of the teacher teams.
